U.S. Navy BLUE ANGELS will headline MAAFM Millville Airshow 2011 on Memorial Day Weekend!

Millville Airshow named a Tier 1 event site by the U.S. Navy for its 2011 Centennial Celebration — 100 years of Naval Aviation!

It’s official! Millville Airport — America’s First Defense Airport — has once again been chosen by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron as the site to salute our military on Memorial Day Weekend 2011.

Even more exciting is the fact that the MAAFM’s Millville Airshow has been chosen as one of the U.S. Navy’s Tier 1 event sites for their 2011 Centennial of Naval Aviation and will be part of a week-long celebration for the Philadelphia area!

The Museum, in conjunction with David Schultz Airshows LLC, is proud to announce that the United States Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron will headline the 2011 Millville Wheels & Wings Airshow!

The prestigious U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron, which performed here in 2007 and in 2003, will return to highlight a list of military airplanes and aviation displays at Millville Airport on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29, 2011.

“This is incredibly exciting news for Millville and all of New Jersey,” announced Russell Davis, MAAFM president. “The Museum is honored to be chosen to host the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at Millville Airport, one of just 35 performance sites nationwide and the only location in New Jersey in 2011.”

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Squadron, consisting of six air combat F/A-18 ‘Hornet’ fighter jets, flown by America’s finest pilots, will be coming to the Millville Airshow from their headquarters at Pensacola, Florida. They will delight audiences with their gravity-defying loops and rolls performed in tight formation at hundreds of miles per hour!

While the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline, the Millville Airshow will also feature the United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, returning for their fourth visit to Millville Airport to perform precision freefall demonstrations. A growing list of airshow performers includes modern jets, military airplanes, historic warbirds and exciting aerobatic acts.

“We give special thanks to Wells Fargo Advisors, our event-presenting sponsor, for their generous and patriotic support of this event. And, thanks also to New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) for their cooperation in closing operations at their site during performances to allow the airshow to take place,” continues Davis. “We also thank the Boeing Company here at Millville Airport for their sponsorship, hosting the U.S. Navy Blue Angels’ pre-visit, and providing their hangars to accommodate the F-18s in May.”

“At this point we have a growing list of sponsors to thank,” adds Davis. “It’s gratifying to see the amount of patriotism, community spirit, and support we are getting from area businesses and organizations.”

“We are proud to present the U.S. Navy Blue Angels Airshow at Millville Airport,” states David Schultz of David Schultz Airshows LLC. “The Millville Airshow is recognized as a premiere aviation venue not only in the greater Philadelphia area, but also on the entire east coast. The 2011 Millville Airshow will be very special as we salute the military, lead by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, on Memorial Day Weekend!”
